How much do you know about the AOE Library?

AOE library has a collection of 16,000 + titles. We have recently added ebooks to our collection. The 3rd-5th grade students have Destiny training at the beginning of each school year. Our on-line data base (DESTINY) is now available at home. Student's and parents may keep track of their own accounts by accessing Destiny.

Our Kindergartners and first grade students do not take their library books home. Parent's are encouraged to have their own account to check out  library books for their Kinder and 1st grade students.

Aviara library provides many reading incentive programs throughout the school year. These programs may change from year to year. Author visits are another opportunity we welcome at Aviara library. Our Book fairs continue to support and extend the love of reading with interactive thematic displays. Our AOE PTA  parent volunteers make up the bulk of this impressive annual fundraiser.

Aviara Birthday Eagles of 2019-2020

“What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education.”
― Harold Howe

Birthday Book Club gives children an opportunity to participate in building the library collection, and satisfaction in knowing that a book with their name in it will be a part of their library long after they have graduated from our school. There are two options to help with our ONE and ONLY library fundraiser.

We have partnered with Smile.Amazon.com.    A percentage of every sale goes back to our PTA. A win win proposition!   Look for : AOE staff wish list 2019-2020.   I have the shipping option set with the school address too! An easy and effective way to shop and support Avaira Oaks Elementary Library.     Over the past ten years we had exclusively partnered with Bound to Stay Bound Books.   Please have your child view these titles as well and make a selection.

Please view our wish list to participate in our Birthday Book Club

Thank you,

Andrea Oshima

Hi Everyone,

The apps/icons pictured above are areas that the library can give guidance if needed. Clever has site specific apps and also district supported services available once you have the student log in.

From time to time I will showcase different mini-lessons on Destiny. Remember you log in through your school Clever account.

Mix It Up Day at Aviara Oaks Elementary

kanggracepandajosieadultskara

It’s a simple call to action for all grade levels: Take a new seat, by taking a risk; students can cross the lines of division in a safe, supported environment, meet new people and help build an inclusive and welcoming school community.

We will celebrate school wide with color coded tables. Dress up with mixed up attire, different socks, shoes, hair bows, etc...Stay tune for the mystery / surprise at the salad bar.

Aviara Oaks Elementary Library acquired the Titanic traveling trunk from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Our students were able to research, investigate, inquire, and review some replicas of primary source documents. A Mudder pocket watch, compass, wooden toothbrushes, fabric samples, oil lamp, posters, flyers, and other period day items were available to the students. This was an educational opportunity for our 3rd-5th students.
